My name is Cynthia (Cindy) Peters.  My lineage going up as far as I can on the Baker line is as follows, Father - Cyrus Raymond, Grandmother - Helen (Van Aucken) Raymond, Great Grandmother - Cora (Baker) Van Aucken, Great Great Grandfather - Horace Baker, (married to Harriet Crawford)  Great Great Great Grandfather Truman Baker.  

Horace Baker was at Gettysburg when he was 17 and drove a supply wagon.  He was in Co. H, 141st Reg PVT.  He lived from 1845-1918.

 If anyone has any further information on this line of the Baker family tree or pictures that they could share, I would be very appreciative.  I believe they are from Meshopen Pa, Wyoming County.  We seem to have lost all contact with this line of the family, even though my grandmother wrote of having nice memories of the Baker line of her family growing up.  I would love to reconnect and learn more about this line of my family.

My name is Jamie Aiden Baker and I am looking for information about my family.  I have found my father's baby book and I am finding out many things but would like some input. I am the son of David Gale, who was born 12-13-1945 at Harper Hospital. His father was the son ofGeorge Wison Baker, who was born in Waynesburg Pa, and Wanda.  George was the son of George C. and Alice Baker. That's all I can find. I can remember going to a big family reunion in a hilly area near Pittsburg as a child and I know my dad had a copy of The Baker's of Sissinghurst but I can not find it.  I did find a copy of Sissinghurst Castle: an Illustrated History by Nigel Nicholson. Nehemiah Baker and Lydia Regester

Hi!  I have been doing countless research on my Baker line for years and for the longest time I had Lydia Regester Bakers date of death as 1804.  Couldn't source it, just saw that so many other trees had the same date. 
Well, I was thumbing through orphans court records and I came across a Lydia Baker who died it 1778.  Nehemiah was one of  the administrators.  Now, I know Nehemiah also died in 1778.  

Is it possible that Lydia died before her husband, same year?  If not, and she did die in 1804, can someone please source it for me?  LOL

 

This isn't my direct line.  I have direct Direct Baker lines in my tree. 

One starting with Joseph Baker Jr (1673-1735), then Richard, Aaron, Richard, then Mary who married John Smedley.

My other Baker line starts with John Baker (1598-1672) then Joseph, then Sarah who married Thomas Smedley.

There are four Henry Baker’s that I need to tackle (please excuse me as I use reference numbers on the person to keep track);1)      #233 Henry Baker Jr. (-) son of #92 Henry Baker (1764-1838) and Susanna Fox (-) son, of #38 John Baker(1719-1795) and Margaret -?-?-, who is son of #13 Joseph Baker (1674-1735) and Martha Woodward, nephew of Joseph Baker Sr. ** Note #92 Henry would be aged 45 at the time of 1809, #233 Henry Baker Jr. who was one of eight known children. 2)      #312 Henry Baker (-), son of #136 Nathan Baker(1765-1853) and Rachel Swayne (1769-1852), who is son of #50 Aaron Baker, Jr. (1729-1812) and Sarah Hayes, who is son of #29 Aaron Baker (1701-1783) and Mary Edwards (1703-), who was the son #13 Joseph Baker (1674-1735) and Martha Woodward, nephew of Joseph Baker Sr. ** Note #136 Nathan Baker would be aged 44 at the time of 1809 if this #312 Henry Baker is mine.  #312 was one of nine known children. 3)      #563 Henry Baker Jr. (-) son of #235 John Baker (-) who was the son of #92 Henry Baker (1764-1838) and Susanna Fox (-), son of #38 John Baker (1719-1795) and Margaret -?-?-, who is son of #13 Joseph Baker (1674-1735) and Martha Woodward, nephew of Joseph Baker Sr. **Note hard to calculate this one. 4)      #228 Henry Baker (-) son of #87 John Baker, Jr. (1756-) and Tacy Roberts (-) who was the son, of #38 John Baker(1719-1795) and Margaret -?-?-, who is son of #13 Joseph Baker (1674-1735) and Martha Woodward, nephew of Joseph Baker Sr.  **Note #87 John Baker Jr would be aged 53 at the time of 1809 if this #228 Henry Baker is mine. #228 was one of six known children.  Also reference notes that #87 John Baker and Tacy were in Virginia in 1802.  I realize that they could have moved back to PA.So what I know for sure is that my Henry Baker was born 1809 and died 16 September 1890 in West Chester, PA.  He married Sarah Baker (ne McBride) 6 December 1832 in Delaware County, PA.  Sarah was born 1811 and died 1881.  Both GGG Grandparents are buried in Greenmount Cemetery, West Chester, PA.  Henry was a farmer by occupation.  From that marriage six children are known;A)     Jesse Baker (1833-1901), married Hannah Williamson Green.B)      John C. Baker (1835 -1907), married Hannah P. Sutter.C)      Anna C. Baker (1837 -1907), married Charles W. Haycock.D)     Susannah P. Baker (1840-1912), never married.E)      Joseph J. Baker (1842/43 - ), married Ellen N. Snare.F)      Mary Baker (1850 -), married Emmor G. Griffith.So the one of the administration letters I sent you for #92 Henry Baker was for 1838, it correlates to the family of #3 above.  It spells / lists out the minor children /grandchildren of #92 as many of his children died before him.So there you have it.  Any ideas on a path further?  Look forward to hearing from you.  As always I do APPRECIATE your assistance.Puzzled in Annapolis!!  TomCan be reached at tom21012@yahoo.com

"I am most interested in Elizabeth Cooper Speers.  She went to Marshalltown, IA.  I have some names on a grave registration survey indicating that Charlie Speers (1875 - 1893) and Henry V. Speers (1837-1912), J. Morton Speers (1871 - 1896) are buried in Riverside Cemetery, Marshalltown  Altogether there are 27 Speers buried in Iowa and enumerated on a WPA 1930's Graves Registration Survey."
